illustration for Hao Li
Inspired by the beauty of each sport, Hao has attempted to capture the unique rhythm of athletes' body movements through this illustration series. To get started, Hao simplified the complex athletes' body movements by using the simplest graphics and dialogue. Taking advantage of both traditional paintings and digital paintings, he recreated the texture of the paper and brush strokes. Through his unique illustration style, he brought out the dynamic and energetic, beautiful ethos of athletes and artists alike.

This is a series of illustrations, in the work I have tried to present the texture of traditional painting by using digital tech. At the same time, generalize the complex form of motion into simple lines and shapes is another thought of mine, in this way I can show how dynamic and beautiful the motion of sports is.

This is an illustration series made completely by computer painting software, Adobe Photoshop. Inspired by traditional painting on paper, I tried to restore the sense of the material in traditional painting with software, through many attempts, I finally created the most suitable brushes and textures.
The key to this series is to accurately grasp the most unique characteristics of each movement and present it through the simplest graphics and lines. In the process of collecting information, I noticed that each sport contains a large number of body movements, how to find the most representative and at the same time aesthetic movements in so many movements is the biggest challenge I faced.
The project is made in 2019 and featured in Behance Illustration in January 2021.
This is a sports-themed illustration that tries to convey to the viewer the unique beauty of each sport.
In order to better complete this series, I did a lot of searching for each relevant movement and summarized the most representative movements from a large number of picture materials. After completing this step of selection, the next step is to simplify the complex body language and retain the most critical information. Therefore, while taking into account both the form and aesthetics, every line and every piece of the figure presented in the picture has its own necessity
I did an animation about badminton a few years ago, and since then I have been fascinated by the expression of sports-related topics. In this series, I focused more on capturing the beauty of the moment than showing the whole process of sports, and I found that each sport has its own standard movements, and they present a unique form that is easily recognizable and has a strong sense of beauty. So I decided to create this series of illustrations.
