Traditional arts and crafts, modern design adaptation, cultural heritage, traditional motifs
This project combines traditional crafts with modern technology, and realizes the modern transformation of traditional patterns through digital design and computer-aided manufacturing. In terms of material selection, high-quality silk and environmentally friendly natural fibers are used, combining traditional crafts with mechanized production to ensure the exquisiteness of design details and the consistency of mass production.
The most challenging part of this design project is how to preserve the essence of traditional culture while effectively transforming it into a design that meets modern aesthetic and functional requirements. The modern transformation of traditional patterns not only requires a balance between cultural heritage and innovative design, but also faces practical issues such as technology, production process and copyright.
The project will be jointly initiated by Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum and Communication University of Zhejiang in July 2024 and completed in August 2024. Director:Chen Gang, Fan Xiaolin, Huang Yi, Yang Chao, Lv Ang, Deng Rui, Design:Chen Zilong, Liu Weilong, Gu Jiayuan, Xiang Hongjin, Fang Jiwei, Guo Yuanxi, Jin Ziyi, Mao Yutin, Ye Lin, Zhang Yiqun
