Visual Identity for Nanjing University of Finance & Economics, School of Art & Design
Transcending static forms, this identity visualizes New Quality Productive Forces by applying architectural isometric logic. The letters D and I are deconstructed along a 45 degree axis, interlocking to create a dynamic geometric entity. This staggered layering generates a 3D interplay of positive and negative space, effectively transforming abstract code into tangible structure. The asymmetrical composition symbolizes the fusion of intelligence and creativity. Supported by a modular grid with optical corrections, the system ensures coherence from digital screens to foil stamped prints.

Centered on the initials "D" and "I", this design constructs a dynamic geometric form through deconstruction and recombination. The unique 45-degree staggered layering creates a 3D interplay of positive and negative space. Transcending standard letterforms, this asymmetrical structure serves as a powerful metaphor for the innovative fusion of digital intelligence and creative thinking.
Digital、Intelligence、Creativity、Visual identity
Graphics are adapted in various scenarios, such as work passes, badges, silk scarves, notebooks, etc. The process involves foil gold, silk, UV printing, etc.
Internal Challenge: The primary obstacle was balancing abstract symbolism with legibility. We needed to visualize the weight of "New Quality Productive Forces" without using generic tech clichés, ensuring the deconstructed "D" and "I" remained recognizable. External Challenge: Technically, the 45-degree isometric geometry posed alignment issues. Achieving a seamless interplay of solid and void required complex optical corrections. We overcame this by developing a rigorous modular grid, ensuring the "dynamic instability" remained structurally coherent across all media scales.
The project starts in July 2024 and ends in August 2024 in Nanjing, China
Think of this logo as a dynamic structure rather than a static image. It operates by slicing the letters "D" and "I" into modules. The transformation occurs along a 45-degree axis, where parts slide and overlap like a precise puzzle. Keyframes capture the shift from flat shapes to a 3D illusion of depth. This interaction visualizes the "fusion" of data and creativity. It offers superior performance because its flexible, modular nature adapts perfectly to both digital screens and physical prints.
We conducted qualitative visual research to redefine "Digital Intelligence." Analyzing global tech trends, we found traditional typography lacked dynamism. Using morphological analysis and digital prototyping tools, we tested various modular structures. Results indicated that static forms failed to convey "fusion," whereas a 45-degree staggered system created unique 3D depth. The key insight is that controlled instability generates visual attention. This identity effectively differentiates the brand in the commercial market, communicating complex innovation through simple, memorable geometry.
Driven by the blurring lines between the digital and physical, we aimed to transcend static forms. The design draws from architectural isometry, using a 45-degree axis to represent innovation. Our goal was to visualize "New Quality Productive Forces" through a dynamic balance of solid and void, turning abstract code into a living structure.
