Packaging Design for Studio Born
Eau de LAmour is a quiet object, a botanical love letter shaped by plants. The fragrance and its packaging do not seek to impress, but to belong. Crafted solely from organic essential oils and free from synthetic additives, the purity of the formulation is reflected in the restraint of its design. Inspired by apothecary rituals and botanical traditions, soft surfaces, warm hues, and subtle detailing create a calm, intentional expression of luxury rooted in honesty and closeness to nature.

Eau de LAmour embodies quiet luxury through material depth, tactile refinement, and cultural memory. Rejecting high gloss spectacle, the packaging positions fragrance as ritual and knowledge. Restrained foil detailing and minimal embossing details on FSC certified uncoated stock create an intimate sensory experience. The design aligns formulation, narrative, and production ethics into one coherent, emotionally resonant object.

The design was developed through a material led approach, aligning formulation purity with structural and graphic restraint. The label features hot foil stamping and micro embossing on uncoated, FSC certified stock to enhance tactility without lamination. Typography and ornament were vector-drafted from botanical studies and refined through iterative prototyping.
The main challenge was balancing a romantic, vintage inspired aesthetic with the standards of contemporary luxury packaging. Historically influenced visuals had to feel authentic without appearing nostalgic or decorative for its own sake. Production constraints such as foil precision, embossing depth, and material sustainability required careful coordination with the printer. The obstacle was achieving tactile richness while preserving visual restraint and clarity.
The project commenced in November. The creative development phase lasted three weeks, followed by one week of finalization and preparation for print. The production process was undertaken by Focus Print Istanbul. Prototype production, test prints, sampling, and implementation required an additional three to four weeks. The overall process spanned approximately two months. The product was officially launched in January 2025.
The object is designed to be experienced slowly. Revealing the perfume nested in a warm, protective interior. The bottle sits securely yet can be lifted with ease. Light catches the gold details, inviting touch. Every interaction, from opening the box to holding the glass, reinforces calm, care, and intention, creating a more intimate and meaningful fragrance ritual.
The research was inspired by traditional apothecary packaging, botanical illustrations, and Art Nouveau book covers. The objective was to translate botanical purity into an authentic and emotionally resonant packaging language. The process involved reviewing archival references, studying decorative borders and typographic structures, and refining concepts through sketching and prototyping. The result is a poetic, vintage book cover composition with warm, romantic character, strengthening brand identity and elevating perceived value.
The project was inspired by traditional botanical apothecaries and the quiet rituals of essential oil based perfumery. Research focused on old herbal manuscripts, natural dye palettes, and essential oil extraction practices. The motive was to translate purity and restraint into a contemporary luxury object, where material, typography, and ornament reflect the integrity of an entirely natural formulation.
