Through incorporating animated imagery from contemporary ink painting, this animation and interdisciplinary work aspires to evoke a transcendental experience of the cosmic force, a glimpse into the crucible of genesis. Energies shift and explode to create serenity in an electric manner. Light emanates from darkness, symbolizing spiritual rebirth. Reflecting a reverence for both the spirits of Tao and the Sublime, this work celebrates the dynamic energies that give birth to new life, new planets, and new stars.

Production Technology
Video animation generated from the unique medium of ink painting. This interdisciplinary work incorporates dancers and body movement with video animation projected on a 10m x 5m LED panel on stage.
Design Challenge
The synthesis of animated ink images, music and the body movement is the biggest challenge in this interdisciplinary production.

Operation Flow
This could be a video animation for exhibition and screening, and it could also be part of a multidisciplinary dance performance with video projection on a large LED panel on stage or in a museum/gallery installation.
Research
Using ink painting to produce the footages then use Adobe Premiere for animation production. Work with choreographer and dancers to integrate body movement with ink animation.
Inspiration
This work is inspired by contemporary ink painting, Chinese calligraphy, cosmic force, dynamic energies, crucible of genesis, Taoism philosophy, as well as the spirit of the Sublime.

Metamorphosis III Video Animation and Dance has been a Iron winner in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design award category in the year 2018 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
