Production Technology
Hundreds of annual ring's photo was collected as a reference. Adobe Illustrator is the main software to complete the poster.
Design Challenge
The hardest part is using mathematical graphic to simulate nature shape such as annual ring and expressing both aesthetics at the same time.
Project Duration
The project started in Aug 2018 and finished in September 2019 in Tokyo, and was exhibited in gallery of Myojyuji Saruein September 2018.
Operation Flow
It was displayed at the entrance, visiter could take the small flyers by themselves to understand the theme of the exhibition.
Research
The number, thickness, curvature, color, etc. of the lines have been extensively tested to express annual ring.
Inspiration
The inspiration is from annual ring. Wood is a kind of material without life. But different from other material, people can still feel vitality by the smell and texture and so on. The annual ring is the evidence which can prove it was lived as a tree. And the beautiful curve is intoxicating.
