Interior Element for COZI Studio
Wooden wall panels come alive and wander off around the interior space. Precise geometrical joints create a fluid continuous form out of numerous pieces of pressed bent wood. The entire element, made of only two different basic shapes attached together multiple times in several orientations, comes together to create an organic like natural fluid line. Suspended from the ceiling using 1 mm thin metal wires, the wooden surface floats as far as 10.5 meters away from the wall.

Production Technology
Infinity is made of pressed wood veneers. In order to design this organic flow curve, a physical model was hand made and then 3D scanned to create a file base for us to work on thus maintaining a handcrafted feel to the object. After CNC milling the mold, thin wood veneers layered with glue were pressed against each other to create the "building blocks" that later formed the object.
Project Duration
The project was designed and built February - April 2021. Designed for a furniture shop's interior design.
Operation Flow
Walking around and underneath Infinity, you feel drawn into the tangled wooden curve. The object feels as if it is in continuous motion.
Inspiration
Confetti paper rolls throne in the air creating an infinite airborne doodle in mid flight was the idea that we wanted to recreate. We know that for many, this project resembles a ribbon gymnast dance frozen inmid air. The use of pressed wood creates a contrast between the dynamic soft shape and the clean elegance historically embedded in the material.
