Migrants and refugees are a big part of germany's society,and as a big part,their confusion,stress and uncertainty can effect the whole society.HilfePunkt is a communicative service app that provides newcomers,specifically refugees,guidance and help.It offers newcomers clear steps,helping them understand what should be done and why.It gives them a sence of responsibilty and self confidence.It minimizes misunderstandings and communication conflicts and targets a faster,easier integration process.

The design process unfolded employing a suite of tools: Figma, Photoshop, Adobe XD,and Illustration.Commencing with conceptualization and meticulous needs analysis,special attention was given to the app's appointment-giving services.Designers worked diligently to ensure users' calendars remained uncluttered,prioritizing a seamless experience.Through careful wireframing,elements were strategically placed to enhance usability, culminating in thoughtful visual decisions aligned with project goals.
Our greatest hurdle was serving the vulnerable asylum seeker group, meaning sensitive information. To preserve confidentiality and trust, we established a separate system. Here, no user data reaches us; access is solely through the user's social worker. Additionally, we are facing the challenge of convincing officials to embrace this new approach, navigating communication barriers, and highlighting its merits.
The project started in February 2023 in Germany.
HilfePunkt redefines newcomers' integration in Germany, bridging relocation complexities with comfort and knowledge.It provides two different lists of activities one for mandatory activities such as city hall registration,and one for optional activities such as different courses one can take!The users will recieve notifications over what is going to change such as possible bus strikes.HilfePunkt also prevents appointment collisions so all recieved appointments will be set in a reasonable manner.
In order to design an app that provides classified, short and yet accurate information to the user, the designers needed to do extensive research and check everything with the authorities. On the other hand, to ensure whether they took the right approach and how much such an approach is needed, the designers conducted research in the form of questionnaires and interviews from both involved groups, newcomers and officials who are dealing with them. The results were incredibly positive and effective.
we are living in a world where democratic design plays a very important role in different societies.Creating a democratic solution for newcomers in Germany to give them the chance of easing their way into their new home was the designers source of inspiration.It is shocking how not knowing the regulations and activities can influence a huge community of people:Migrants!Giving them the opportunity of not getting misinformed by the flood of unnecessary information is one of HilfePunkt's missions .
