Design Challenge
The hardest design challenge in building Hero is maintaining simplicity. Most productivity tools start with one or two niche functions but get clunky over time. With Hero, our goal is to continuously simplify and optimize as we add new features so the overall complexity doesn’t increase over time. Another challenge is powering the entire app and its functions with voice actions and let users do more by doing less.
Project Duration
The project started in Jan 2023 and was launched publicly in Aug 2024. Continuous development and work is ongoing on this app.
Operation Flow
Hero is defining an entirely new category with 3 unique attributes: 1. All-in-one: Hero seamlessly integrates every piece of your life: calendars, reminders, notes, weather, grocery ordering, and GPT. 2. Multi-player: Share and comment on anything with family and friends. Just say “remind (name)” to instantly send reminders. 3. Voice-powered: Use natural language for everything: create events, reminders, notes, order groceries, and inquire about news and local events. No app matches this.

Inspiration
Every day, we juggle priorities across apps and people. The average person spreads their life across more than 30 apps per week. Since these apps don’t work together, things frequently slip through the cracks or get forgotten. To coordinate with others, people primarily text, which easily gets buried (and forgotten). And when our hands are full, we turn to voice assistants, which are only useful for simple requests that don’t require a UI. Hero, the world’s first Daily Assistant, makes life easier in 3 ways- Unified Life View: Hero combines calendars, reminders, notes, groceries, weather, and GPT for a seamless overview. Easy Coordination: Hero allows sharing availability, reminders, and notes with partners, family, and friends. Comment directly on items to keep context. Voice-Driven Tasks: Hero’s voice UX updates the UI as you speak, helping you complete tasks like scheduling events up to 10X faster. Parents and couples use Hero as a superpower for their busy lives. Hero simplifies life as your home — Instead of spreading ourselves across apps, Hero allows each piece of your life to work together, with others, with the help of AI.
