Developing Skinspotter involved balancing medical accuracy with a user-friendly interface, a challenge compounded by strict privacy laws. Ensuring the app could accurately assess skin conditions from varied photographic conditions required innovative design solutions to make dermatological care accessible and effective for all users.

Skinspotter is designed to seamlessly integrate into users' health routines. The app features a user-friendly interface for easy navigation and uses AI to assess risks for 29 skin conditions quickly. Users can upload photos, track symptoms and sensations, and log skin condition locations. Personalized schedules and reminders enhance engagement, while HIPAA compliance ensures data security.
Skinspotter's development began with practical research aimed at making healthcare more accessible through mobile technology. Our approach included focus groups and hands-on trials involving diverse demographic groups. We utilized straightforward surveys and direct user feedback as primary tools for data collection. The findings emphasized a strong preference for simplicity and ease of use, leading to a streamlined app design.
Inspired by the philosophy of 'design for all,' Skinspotter aims to make sophisticated technology warm and accessible. It was developed to cater to all technical abilities with a minimal and human-centered design that transforms healthcare into an elegant, accessible experience, featuring thoughtful typography and clean layouts.
Skinspotter Mobile App has been a Silver winner in the Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design award category in the year 2024 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
