Short Film Series for Hasmik Mkhchyan
Infinite Realities is an anthology of two AI-generated short films, Electric Dreams and The Garden of Forking Paths, inspired by Philip K. Dick and Jorge Luis Borges. These films explore alternate realities and branching timelines, inviting viewers to question the nature of existence. Drawing from Borges' 1941 concept of branching time and Dick's 1977 exploration of simulated realities, the project merges literature with AI-driven creativity. These films emerged from a creative synergy, sparked by the discovery of cutting-edge AI technologies during my exploration of Stable Diffusion AI. This collaboration has elevated my artistic vision to new heights of precision and complexity, transcending traditional methods and breathing life into the intricate worlds envisioned by these iconic authors.
The biggest challenge was directing Stable Diffusion to generate visuals that matched my creative intent rather than its own algorithmic tendencies. Overcoming this required extensive prompt refinement, manual adjustments, and iterative experimentation - forcing the AI to align with my artistic vision. Balancing creative control with AI’s unpredictability was crucial in shaping a coherent narrative while maintaining the depth and complexity of the concept.

This seamless fusion of creativity and technology pushes the boundaries of storytelling in new and unexpected ways.
These films emerged from a creative synergy, sparked by my exploration of Stable Diffusion AI. During this journey, I discovered the technique of AI-generated animation videos, which led me to uncover an exciting world of possibilities. This collaboration with cutting-edge technology elevated my artistic vision, allowing me to transcend traditional methods and create intricate, dynamic worlds inspired by the works of my beloved authors.
The exploration of parallel worlds is not a new concept; it has roots in philosophical musings and early literary works. However, it was not until the 20th century that this idea gained substantial traction, particularly in science fiction and scientific discourse. In 1941, Borges introduced the notion of branching time in his renowned story The Garden of Forking Paths, illuminating the concept with unparalleled clarity. Fast forward to 1977, when Philip K. Dick, in his thought-provoking speech titled If You Find this World Bad, You Should See Some of the Others, confronted audiences with existential questions about reality, cosmological time, and the intriguing prospect of our universe as a simulated construct. Inspired by these visionary ideas, Infinite Realities is an artistic exploration of alternate timelines and shifting perceptions. The project was born from my deep fascination with these themes and my discovery of AI tools like Stable Diffusion, which opened new creative possibilities
