Chair for EDNA Joint Institute, China Academy of Art
While traditional chairs are usually fixed, Oyoga uses a swivel joint structure that allows it to change shape depending on the number of people or usage scenarios, from a three person seat to a four person, five person, or six person seat, providing users with more flexibility. Oyoga introduces the design element of a yoga ball for added wellness functionality. Users can sit down to do some light exercise and due to its softness, it can be easily removed when it needs to be replaced.

Although traditional chairs are usually fixed, Oyoga uses a rotating joint structure, allowing it to change shape according to the number of people or the usage scenario, from a three-person seat to a six-person seat, providing users with more flexible usage. Oyoga incorporates design elements of yoga balls to enhance health functionality. Users can do some light exercises while sitting and can easily remove them when replacement is needed.
Flexible, Interactive, Comfortable, Sustainable, Versatile
Oyoga uses a combination of elastic materials and yoga balls to provide a more comfortable sitting experience, and the connector is made of metal, which is not easy to shift when replaced, and is more robust.
The design of the Oyoga involves a rotating and deformable seat structure, so ensuring the safety of the mechanical structure is crucial.
At present, our project has successfully established a cooperative relationship with China Academy of Art, and contacted manufacturers to carry out large-scale production of products. Pass with various college cafes (Heh Heh star people, big black house...) After in-depth communication and coordination, the person in charge decided to make full use of the idle rest space outside the cafe and carefully arrange the seat products designed by us, aiming to provide a comfortable and convenient rest environment to attract more students of China Academy of Art who are eager to relax after intense learning to come to consume experience.
We designed a deformable, multifunctional seat with a rotating spherical connector that changes the shape of the seat. Users can flexibly adjust the shape of the seat according to the number of people and scene needs, from three seats to six seats. The yoga ball is connected to the base by a rotating mechanical structure that allows the seat to be flipped up as a backrest for the seat next to it. OYoga simply uses mechanical splicing to put all the pieces together.
Focused on transforming a yoga ball from a solo activity to a group interaction while ensuring comfort and fun, a fun interactive multi-functional yoga chair aims to address this problem, collecting data through field research, surveys and random interviews, our team identified key elements such as wellness, interaction and fun through mood boards and mind maps. The study guided the design of the Oyoga multi-person yoga chair, highlighting the need for open, interactive Spaces, using a modular, deformable design with rotating and connected seats that can change layout for group use and interaction, and the final design using yoga ball materials and rotary connectors that allow the seat to deform during use. Increase the fun and interactivity during breaks.
We have designed a multi-functional yoga chair, aiming to promote interaction and entertainment. By utilizing the flexibility of elastic materials and the softness of yoga balls, it offers a comfortable and adaptable seating option, allowing users to experience the perfect blend of health and fun during activities. Inspired by pomegranate seeds, its design symbolizes unity and friendship, and this chair can accommodate multiple people.
