I go on with the first cooking at 950 degrees celsius, the glazing process and the second cooking into a Raku oven at 930 degrees celsius. The object is removed still white-hot from the oven. Arrangement of the Led lighting system and finally the insertion of the Murano blown glass tentacles.

Design Challenge

Take the pieces out of the oven at 940 degrees celsius and quickly manage the thermal shock in three minutes. The integration of the glass tentacles on the ceramic base.

Project Duration

Modeled with clay: 12 days Drying: 20 days Blown glass processing: 7 days Location: Lido of Venice and Murano,Italy

Operation Flow

The object can be used as an Indoor and Outdoor Lamp. The lamp is suitable for creating new atmospheres with light and shadow effects on the wall. The user can interact by changing different colors using the remote control.

Research

The goal is to create lamps that integrate Art and Design. The method is transversal by integrating two techniques ceramics with Murano glass; Through the Deconstruction of art, a process of liberation from the traditional historical form begins to give way to a new syncretic language. Two readings: Fusion of different techniques and cultures and Safeguarding the oceans, a tropicalization of the Mediterranean is occurring. The lamp has had a positive impact in Milan and in the VeniceGlassWeek 2020

Inspiration

The Marine Habitat, I conceive my works as reflections of a recreated nature, the connection between nature and culture is a constant in my work. I work across different disciplines.I began a path of alienation from the Traditional shape in order to give way to a new syncretic language by the deconstruction of the art. The work communicates two levels of interpretation: Fusion and integration of two cultures, Peru and Italy. Safeguarding seas and oceans: a Tropicalization of the Mediterranean sea is occurring.
