Production Technology

Printing or injection molding.

Design Challenge

1)The accurate information transmission and the exquisite design. 2)The compatibility of the two production methods (print or injection molding) and the different sizes leads to restrictions on UI details.

Project Duration

The project started in August 2020 in Ningbo and finished in November 2020 in ShenZhen, China.

Operation Flow

Elements can be printed on the product control panel, or they can be injected with LED lights to prompt consumers to press.

Research

Air products include ventilators, purifiers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, etc. UI needs to display its functions intuitively, so that users can understand and operate easily. In addition to functions such as "wind speed", "humidification", and "dehumidification", air products also include additional functions such as "negative ions", "sterilization", "night light" and many composite functions. The difficulty of UI is to use a unified image to express a variety of complex functions.

Inspiration

The inspiration comes from the button shapes of different products and the brand image of client. At the same time, the UI elements reflect the high quality of the products and enhance the brand image.

Project Overview

Air Btn UI Elements has been a Iron winner in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution. Recipients of the Iron A' Design Award are acknowledged for their practical innovations and contributions to their respective fields, providing solutions that improve quality of life and foster positive change. These designs are a testament to the skill and dedication of their creators, showcasing their ability to address real-world challenges through thoughtful design.
