Sorkhab Brow Soaps are made out of vegan and animal cruelty-free ingredients. For that reason, they wanted to make sure that the packaging also resonates with the nature of its content and that is why they chose wood as their main material. The smooth outlines of the package may catch the buyers' attention, even more. The product inside (soap) is made out of 100 % vegan materials, its package also conveys the fact that it is eco-friendly. The whole package is built out of the wasted hardwoods found in the furniture industry. That is one of the reasons why wood has been chosen over other.

Production Technology
The product was modeled with Rhino3D modeling software. The initial prototype was built by a Three-Axis CNC milling machine. To control the final manufacturing prices, the design is adjusted a bit, to the point that it is manufacturable by the rotary CNC milling machine. As for the eco-friendly approach, it's produced by wasted furniture industry hardwoods, they are all from Walnut, Beech, Ash, and Alder woods.
Design Challenge
Wood has been chosen as the main material to emphasize the product's nature as a vegan and animal cruelty-free cosmetic. Finding the best production method while having a reasonable price, was also a great challenge in this project.
Project Duration
2020 first quarter, Tehran, Iran.
Operation Flow
It has tried to involve the audience in three different levels. First, they will notice the unusual outlines of the product and may find the streamlining of it interesting and unique. Second, they grab it in their hands and feel the natural texture of the wood. And third, they might find it really easy to use when trying to open the lid and using the product inside. There are three inserted magnets installed in the wooden package for its closure means. To open the wooden case, you can simply detach the lid from the magnets and easily use the soup.
Research
The fact that a growing number of people are gravitating towards Eco-Friendly materials and this cruelty-free and natural cosmetic product combination pushed the design research to focus on natural materials and sustainable ways of collecting and using them.
Inspiration
Being the ultimate source of inspiration, Nature played a crucial role in the process of the ideation stage. The organic shape of the wooden package was adopted from the curvature of the river stones, resulting in a smooth and sustainable design.

Sorkhab Packaging has been a Iron winner in the Packaging Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
