Design Challenge

due to the nature of digital content that exists in virtual form without material form, it was easy to replicate, resulting in a lack of concept of ownership or original author. this characteristic made it difficult to incorporate investment. to solve this problem, we used a blockchain technology called nft (non-fungible token) and incorporated investment into buying and selling content.

Project Duration

the project started in april 2021 in korea and finished in june 2021 in korea

Operation Flow

simply upload video content and receive investment in content. earn capital gains by selling your content.

Research

we analyze online video content consumption and high investment in cryptocurrency among people in their 20s and 30s in korea through desk research. based on the growth of the nft market that buys and sells digital content through market research, it hypothesized that the most consumed online video content can be used as a means of investment in the future. in addition, marketability was verified through the interviews between real video creators and video content viewers.

Inspiration

the existing online video platform's revenue generation method was limited to advertising and sponsorship, so the value of the content itself was not highlighted. weclip presents the potential for a new marketplace where content can be assetized, invested, and sold by giving digital asset concepts to the video content itself through nft(non-fungible token).

Project Overview

Weclip NFT Invest Platform has been a Iron winner in the Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution.
