Event Visual Communication for CZBank

This project is commissioned by CZBank to design the main visual for their 2022 Youth Speech Contest. Designing a solution that is loved by young people became the main challenge in this design. The creative design concept combines the speech microphone with the roots of a tree in a 3D line form, creating the main graphic element for the visual representation of the event. The intertwined shapes of the tree roots are used for a blended representation that echoes the theme.

Design Challenge

In the field of banking, speech events are usually more traditional and lack visual representations specifically designed for young people. It is rare to find such a youthful visual impression as this design, making it a positive attempt and exploration in the realm of banking speech event visuals.

Project Duration

The project started its design phase in April 2022 and was completed in June 2022. It was officially released in June 2022 as well.

Operation Flow

Speech events are usually more traditional and lack visual representations designed. It is rare to see a visual impression that is as youthful as this design concept. This is a positive attempt and exploration in the realm of banking speech event visuals. With CZBank's strategic shift towards targeting young people as their customer base, the application of this main visual for the event has gained identification from young individuals.

Research

The design of the main visual for the event took into full consideration the adaptation to various application scenarios in the speech contest. Corresponding design extensions were made for event posters, the speech venue, and outdoor promotions, ensuring that both speakers and audience members can have a visually appealing experience across media, livestreaming, and on-site presence.

Inspiration

In this design, specific elements are incorporated: the metaphorical representation of cultural heritage through the absorption of nutrients by tree roots, the expression of intangible cultural transmission through transparent materials, and the analogy of a microphone to a tree trunk to symbolize the dissemination of speeches, conveying rich implications. The design has a strong visual impact that effectively captures the attention of young people and is well understood.

Project Overview

CZBank Youth Speech Contest Event Visual Communication has been a Bronze winner in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
