The design of the mobile application prioritizes a seamless connection between the physical remote and the user interface. This approach enhances user experience, accessibility, and functionality. Key features: Identical buttons: The app uses the same button names and layout as the physical remote, ensuring intuitive control and reducing the learning curve for users. Visual connection: The app's design mimics the aesthetic of the physical remote, creating a cohesive user experience and reinforcing the connection between the two. Functional equivalence: All functions of the physical remote are available in the app, ensuring that users can seamlessly switch between the two without losing any functionality. Technical details: Design: Created in Sketch and finalized in Figma. Materials: The physical remote is made of aluminum with soft-touch rubber covering the main buttons.
Designing a user interface for an air suspension system is a complex task. It must be functional, aesthetically pleasing, and most importantly, safe. When you add to that the development of a technical component that cannot afford any errors, the project becomes the Quintessence of responsibility and hard work. Our team faced a myriad of challenges, ranging from ensuring user-friendliness and safety in the technical aspects to maintaining stability and security in the wireless connection between the control unit and the user app.
The Spec Air project, initiated by Spectrum in Odesa, Ukraine in February 2019, culminated in February 2024 in Portland, OR, US. This long-distance journey faced numerous hurdles, including the ongoing war in Ukraine which significantly impacted its progress. Despite these challenges, we are incredibly proud of the dedication and resilience of our team in overcoming them and bringing Spec Air to fruition.
Height adjustment options, customizable settings, and real-time data monitoring. The system operates via a WiFi connection, linking the user's smartphone with a specially installed control unit. Modification of the vehicle's suspension struts and the installation of a high-pressure air management system are required. In essence, the smartphone sends signals to control air valves, adjusting the vehicle's rigidity and height.
Fueled by my passion for slammed and stanced cars, and a fascination with futuristic spacecraft cockpits, I tried to craft an interface that bridges the gap between the digital and the tangible. Subtle skeuomorphic design effects must evoke the physical presence and satisfying interactivity of real objects, offering a refreshing departure from the often sterile minimalism of typical app designs.
