The Chartmetric Mobile App was developed using React Native for cross-platform compatibility on iOS and Android, ensuring a seamless and efficient user experience. The backend leverages AWS infrastructure for scalable real-time data processing, integrating APIs from platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, and YouTube. UI/UX was designed with Figma, focusing on intuitive navigation and interactive data visualization. Performance optimizations include GraphQL for efficient querying and Firebase for push notifications.
The greatest challenge was translating complex music analytics into a streamlined, intuitive mobile experience without compromising depth. Balancing usability with robust data visualization required extensive user research to optimize navigation, interactivity, and real-time insights. Technical challenges included ensuring seamless cross-platform performance and real-time data updates, while maintaining clarity in presenting vast datasets for industry professionals making high-stakes decisions on the go.
The project began in September 2024 in San Mateo and was completed in December 2024. The app was officially relaunched in early 2025, introducing a refined user experience and enhanced functionality. The development process included extensive research, iterative design improvements, and rigorous user testing to optimize performance. The project has been showcased through industry events and digital platforms, reinforcing its impact on the music analytics landscape.
The Chartmetric Mobile App is designed for quick, seamless access to music data. Users can search for any artist, playlist, or song and instantly view real-time stats, trends, and audience insights. Swipeable milestone cards allow easy sharing of key achievements, while interactive graphs provide deeper exploration. A redesigned home screen, smart tabs, and fast-loading visuals make navigation effortless. Push notifications keep users updated, ensuring smarter, data-driven decisions on the go.
We conducted user-centered research to optimize mobile music analytics for industry professionals. The objective was to enhance accessibility and usability without compromising data depth. Using surveys, interviews, and usability testing, we gathered insights from A&Rs, managers, and marketers. Data collection included heatmaps, engagement tracking, and feedback sessions. Results showed a demand for real-time alerts, interactive data visualizations, and personalized dashboards, leading to a more intuitive and actionable app experience.
The Chartmetric Mobile App was inspired by the growing demand for real-time, data-driven decision-making in the music industry. With professionals constantly on the move, we saw the need for a seamless, mobile-first solution that provides instant access to critical insights. Extensive research into user behavior and industry workflows guided the design, ensuring a balance between depth and usability, empowering A&Rs, managers, and marketers to navigate the evolving music landscape efficiently.
