The design process involved wireframing and prototyping in Figma, with branding elements, illustrations, and image enhancements created using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
One of the biggest challenges of Made Home was creating a seamless balance between e-commerce functionality and brand storytelling. Unlike traditional online marketplaces, this project needed to highlight both the products and the artisans behind them, ensuring an engaging and emotional connection with users.
The project started in April 2024 and finished in November 2024 in New York.
Made Home functions as a vibrant digital marketplace, offering a warm and inviting experience akin to strolling through a local artisan market. Users are guided effortlessly through curated selections, with intuitive navigation that feels like browsing a neighborhood shop. Personalized recommendations and engaging storytelling create a seamless connection between buyers and makers. This approach transforms the website into more than just a shopping platform, as it becomes a celebration of community and craftsmanship.
As Made Home bridges e-commerce with community-driven branding, our research focused on understanding the needs of local food artisans and their customers. We analyzed successful marketplace models, conducted user interviews, and explored behavioral trends in online food shopping. Insights from this research shaped our approach, leading to a design that balances functionality with storytelling. We refined the interface through iterative prototyping, ensuring a seamless and visually engaging user experience.
Made Home is inspired by the need for a platform that connects small-scale food artisans with a wider audience. Drawing from community-driven marketplaces, it creates an intuitive and visually compelling space that elevates local businesses. Research on user behavior, brand identity, and seamless digital experiences shaped the design. More than just e-commerce, Made Home celebrates craftsmanship, community, and the authentic stories behind each homemade product.
