Design Challenge

There were two main challenges in this project. The first challenge was to integrate news and articles from different forums and websites by web crawlers. We spent tons of time on studying the best formate for not only displaying information effectively but also compatible with the source websites. The second challenge was to visualize intuitive charts and graphs for trading cryptocurrency. With limited size of a viewport, It was very difficult to put loads of information. A clear content structure and information hierarchy were required in this case.

Operation Flow

Uzidata consists of 3 main features: real-time info, analytics, and custom. The real-time info so-called "Main dashboard" is divided into 2 sections: information panel and chats. The information panel contains 3 features: news, coins, alert. The news feature help users of the platform to stay updated in the crypto space. At a glance, you will see trending news and news that other traders and following up with. The coins section displays all the major coins that were trading on the market. You will get a list of the top coins that are gaining and a list of the coins that are losing value. The alert feature helps you monitor any coin of interest. For instance, if your interest is in Ethereum, this feature will help you keep track of the coin until the price you intend to buy the coin. Chats is a live chat feature that you can use to chat with other traders. You will know the total number of users online. If you are not a professional trader, this is an opportunity for you to meet someone you can copy his/her trade; The analytics feature is similar to the Coins feature. You will get to see a list of the top gainers, their market price, as well as the traded volume; Custom is an archive that allows you to get a breakdown of all your activities on the platform. If you want to check the record of your transaction, you can do so with this feature.

Research

The design research of Uzidata began with studying the existing tech news media, crypto-wallet, forums, trading platforms, followed by qualitative research. Our objective was to investigate how a cryptocurrency trader receives large amounts of information efficiently. And provide a solution for an all-in-one dashboard to the users.

Inspiration

Uzidata was conceived when a few firm, fearless crypto-fanatics realized just how difficult it was to navigate through the countless substandard information that was circulating on the web. From opening ten tabs at a time to find a credible ICO review to scanning article after article for a neutral opinion on the future outlook of the market.

Project Overview

Uzi dashboard has been a Bronze winner in the Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
