Unique Properties
Zhuliguan is a themed hotel focusing on bamboo culture and we simplify the house into an ink dot, presenting the course of a wind-flown bamboo leaf passing by an ink dot (house) and turning into a bird. This change is a course of growing out of nothing. The pattern seems like both a bamboo and a swallow, enabling us to expect a new journey

Production Technology
Black and white are adopted as the dominant hues to further strengthen the dynamical change of the logo. In the post production, we combine the calligraphy and UV technology to highlight the fashion.
Design Challenge
it vividly presents Zhuliguan Hotel's theme - a bamboo culture hotel with the theme of studying, planting, viewing and staying of bamboos. Its change carries the philosophy of traditional Chinese Taoism-"Out of Tao, One is born; Out of One, Two; Out of Two, Three; Out of Three, the created universe"
Project Duration
This project was started in Hangzhou, China in June 2017 and completed in Hangzhou, China in August 2018.
Operation Flow
We have developed souvenirs for the project and refined the copywriting of "The foolish ask more and the wise do not doubt", which has been applied on notebooks, handbags and T-shirts. The souvenirs are loved by all guests, including children, and they can easily understand what the logo is intended to express.
Research
Chapter 42 of Tao and Teh by Laozi-Out of Tao, One is born; Out of One, Two; Out of Two, Three; Out of Three, the created universe.
Inspiration
The brand name comes from Zhuliguan (Bamboo Villa), a poem written by WANG Wei, who was a poet in Tang Dynasty of China. The logo pattern presents a course of gradual change. He was inspired by the philosophy of Chinese traditional Taoism- "Out of Tao, One is born; Out of One, Two; Out of Two, Three; Out of Three, the created universe" from Chapter 42 of Tao and Teh by Laozi, which was the cosmogony of Laozi.
