Global Identity for AFRICOLOR
For the 30th anniversary of Africolor I created a visual that illustrates how the festival continues to resonate in the bodies and minds, being a voice of contemporary African music creation. I created a typographic game, cutting and repeating the letters of the slogan Africolor is 30 years old to create a vibrant rhythm: the words make echoe, like the music. I wanted the graphic identity to be clear and direct, impacting, colorful and joyful. The poster is available in 2 versions: red and green, the display is therefore very contrasted. All other media play with this visual score.

The first step of research is to make sketches on paper. Once I found the essential idea I continued the creative process on Adobe Illustrator, adapted to test different compositions. I cut the letters and duplicated them to create a vibrant rhythm. The different visuals of communication of the festival with formats as different as a poster, a kakemono or an Instagram publication were made via Illustrator and Indesign for the flyer and the brochure.
The project started in march 2019 for its conception, and finished in october, and it was launched in Paris from november to december 2019, during the festival.
Africolor is celebrating its 30th anniversary this edition is therefore the year of reunion with the artists who punctuated the festival but also those of the contemporary Afro-beat electronic scene. The word that inspired this visual creation is "resonate" : the vibration of bodies souls and spirits over time, beyond borders... Africolor never stops echoing! Translated by a typographical game that makes the title vibrate, creates a joyful rhythm and suggests that the right waves are spreading.

Africolor Festival Global Identity has been a Bronze winner in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
