The interface design of Navi was realized using user-centered design principles, involving wireframing and prototyping with Sketch and Figma. Iterative testing ensured optimal usability. The app employs AI for itinerary customization, real-time data integration, and AR for navigation. Responsive layouts support various devices. Agile methodologies facilitated development. Cloud computing handles data processing and storage. The hardest part of designing NAVI was predicting future technology trends and integrating them into a cohesive system. The challenge involved understanding the potential of AI and autonomous vehicles while considering user preferences. Interviews with experts revealed technological limitations and possibilities. Historical research highlighted how travel planning evolved, guiding the design. Socially, ensuring user acceptance of autonomous tech was crucial. Overcoming these obstacles required balancing innovation with practicality.
The Navi project started in January and finished in March 2024 in Los Angeles.
Navi is simple to use: input your travel details and preferences, and it creates a custom itinerary. The autonomous car drives you while smart goggles provide augmented reality guides and alerts about interesting spots nearby. Navi adapts to changes with real-time updates and alternative routes. It manages all bookings in one place, making your trip stress-free. Using AI and real-time data, Navi ensures a smooth, enjoyable, and personalized road trip experience, outperforming traditional planners.
The research for NAVI involved qualitative and historical methods to explore emerging technologies for future travel. Objectives included understanding AI, AR, and autonomous vehicles. Data was collected through expert interviews and user feedback. Historical research traced travel planning evolution. Insights revealed key advancements and pain points, guiding NAVI's design to offer seamless, adaptive, and enjoyable road trips. NAVI aims to transform travel by integrating cutting-edge technologies and real-time adaptability.
The inspiration for Navi stemmed from the desire to enhance road travel by reducing planning stress and maximizing enjoyment. Observing the trend of AI, autonomous vehicles, and augmented reality transforming industries, I envisioned a system that integrates these technologies to personalize and streamline travel experiences. Extensive research into user preferences and technological advancements guided Navi's development, ensuring it meets the needs of modern travelers.
Navi Road Trip App Interface has been a Iron winner in the Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design award category in the year 2024 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution.
