Concert for B'IN LIVE
Enno Cheng's Daughters concert condenses her 15 year career and she made bold attempts, such as dancing and playing the piano for the first time. The concert's core theme communication, is reflected in a stage design featuring four layers of square LED screens that move vertically and horizontally. This symbolizes how communication can transcend language barriers through the combination of text, body language, and sound. The result is a dynamic experience that conveys ideas and sparks thought, offering a moving and reflective performance focused on human connection.

Communication evolves through various methods and media, making it increasingly diverse. The program showcases different communication modes via music and stage design, ensuring messages are conveyed effectively. By blending music, visuals, body language, and text, the concert captures each song's essence and instills deeper meanings like human compassion, encouraging reflection and letting profound messages resonate long after.
Concert, Daughters, Enno, Communication, Language, Music, Message
Effective communication occurs when the sender can express and the receiver can understand. The music arrangement encourages audience interaction, including clapping and movement. Additionally, dancers use sign language and Taiwanese Hokkien to highlight diverse forms of self-expression and understanding. This approach enriches the concert by showcasing how various mediums enhance experiences and convey messages uniquely.
One major technical challenge is the ceiling load issue. The four layers of LED screens, consisting of eight rectangular panels, need to open horizontally and move vertically. Balancing screen movement and ceiling load becomes a key concern, making pre-show inspections crucial. Additionally, discussions with the lighting designer lead to choosing Fine Art 156 lights. This choice, due to its unlimited rotation capability, maximizes LED screen configuration while meeting safety load limits.
The concert was held in August 2022 in Taipei.
Communication evolves with technology and time, from an infant's cry and facial expressions to sign language, Morse code, and more. The "Daughters" concert's stage design and program aim to not only soothe with music but also prompt a re-evaluation of communication's significance. Beyond conveying messages, diverse forms of communication can transcend borders and language barriers, fostering unexpected love and strength for individuals and society.
The concert features four main elements: body language, text, sound, and symbols. Rather than following a traditional sequence, these elements are combined in various ways to create new possibilities. Using four layers of square LED screens that move individually, both horizontally and vertically, creating diverse visual forms. This symbolizes neutral communication elements, where different combinations turn simple messages into unexpected reactions, highlighting endless interaction potential.
The Daughters concert, inspired by Wu Ming-Yi's chapter "How the Brain Got Language" from "The Land of Little Rain", complements Enno Cheng's album on communication. The stage features four square LED screens that move independently, symbolizing communication beyond language barriers. Combining words, gestures, and sounds, it creates dynamic visuals and a chemistry of shared messages, offering a profound and thought-provoking experience focused on human compassion.
