Production Technology

The website, initially on WordPress, was redesigned and optimised utilising Elementor for seamless content management and future updates. This approach allowed for a streamlined workflow, ensuring the preservation of existing information while enhancing the user interface. Design methodologies focused on responsive layout and intuitive navigation. Elementor's capabilities were leveraged to create a modular structure, enabling precise visual adjustments and efficient content population. Image optimisation was performed to enhance loading speeds, ensuring a smooth user experience. This strategy balanced technical efficiency with design refinement, providing a user-friendly platform.

Design Challenge

The core challenge was balancing clinical accuracy with patient comfort. Presenting sensitive medical information without causing distress required a nuanced approach. Overcoming the inherent tension between unfiltered medical truth and empathetic design was difficult. We needed to integrate extensive existing content while creating a modern, accessible interface tested our design methodology. Striking the right visual tone, avoiding overly clinical imagery, while maintaining informative value and trust, was the most complex hurdle.

Project Duration

The project stared on 21st of January 2024 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Operation Flow

Users navigate easily through improved menus, finding information on skin conditions and treatments. Booking appointments is simple, with a dedicated section. Relatable images and calming colours create a welcoming experience. Articles are organised for easy reading, and a search bar allows quick access to specific topics. Before-and-after photos show real results, building trust. The website adapts to any device, ensuring a smooth experience whether on a phone, tablet, or computer. This user-friendly approach empowers patients to manage their skin health with ease.

Research

Comparative website research aimed to optimise patient engagement. Objectives: analyse successful medical websites and translate best practices for a dermatology/venereology context. Methodology: comparative analysis, focusing on information architecture, visual design, and content presentation. Data collection: website audits, competitor analysis, and review of design guidelines for medical websites. Results: identification of effective strategies for balancing clinical information with user-friendly design. Insights: prioritising clear navigation, relatable imagery, and calming aesthetics enhances patient trust and accessibility. Impact: a website that effectively communicates medical expertise while fostering a reassuring online experience, positively influencing patient engagement and clinic perception.

Inspiration

The core inspiration for the Dr. Dancheva website redesign stemmed from the critical need to bridge the gap between clinical dermatology's inherent complexity and the patient's desire for comfort and understanding. Dr. Dancheva's unwavering commitment to holistic patient care provided the fundamental driving force, inspiring a design approach that prioritized demystifying medical information. Inspiration was drawn from a deep exploration of patient psychology, specifically how visual and interactive elements impact user perception in a sensitive medical context. This research illuminated the need for a calming visual language and an intuitive, user interface. The desire to mitigate patient anxiety, often associated with medical information, directly influenced the selection of a soft pastel palette.
