Posters for Bandujo Advertising Design
Harlem Health Advocacy Partners helps residents in Harlem with various social services: medical, social, educations, etc. In order to make these posters target focused, Jiaqi Song has done various research about visual and design styles that could specifically connect with the Harlem community. The visual icons he designed, with a pop art style and evocative graphic elements, successfully represent the services provided by the organization, in a lively and compelling way. This is a series of advertising campaign posters designed for Harlem Health Advocacy Partners, an organization under the New York City Department of Health. To help the residents in Harlem know more about the services from this organization: medical, social, educations, job-related, etc, these campaign posters include a brand lock up, various illustrated and designed icons, representing different services, to promote this program provided by New York City Department of Health.

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop.
The creative challenge in this project has been that since the audiences of this campaign are very specific, it needs to find the right balance between messaging and visual communications, in order to help the Harlem residents understand the messaging of this campaign easily and quickly. But at the same time, the design style of the posters needs to convey this "Harlem Style", in order to grab attention and promote the services from Harlem Health Advocacy Partners.
This project started in June 2017 in New York City and finished in September 2017 in New York City.
There is one main campaign poster, which includes all the illustrated visual icons graphics. And when the posters are out for distribution in public, they will be broken into the individual poster with one single icon zoomed in, representing that specific service provided by Harlem Health Advocacy Partners.
The research process of this project starts with brainstorming how to convert a government/social service project into an eye-catching and fun project. The research objective was to do as many competitive researches, statistically and visually, as possible, in order to help understand the needs of Harlem residents.
The inspiration for this project comes from the location where Harlem Health Advocacy Partners mainly focuses on helping: Harlem. Since the main audiences that are benefited from this program are residents living in the Harlem community, the look and feel of this project should have this Harlem vibe, in order to resonate with the residents. To communicate with the residents in a clear and easy-understood way, these posters are heavily visual graphics and illustration orientated, influenced by pop art and design style.
