Olfactory memory has been neglected by people. Based on the investigation, it is found that olfactory memory is stronger than other sensory memories and can bring emotional experience. People have been trying to use the method of extracting smell to widely apply olfactory memory. This is a conceptual brand design. Scentwalk is a conceptual brand based on the future, which aims to explore how to extract and store memory in the form of smell in a new carrier in the future, and use olfactory memory to make people walk in memories and emotions to continue their spiritual sustenance. Logo graphics design from the key words of odor molecules, data, extraction, collection, walking, and extend a series of design of related products, instruments, publicity posters.
future, graphic, concept brand, poster, experimental
The overall appearance of the logo is the abbreviation of "scentwalk". The color matching is a kind of material which is silver in itself but can reflect color when meeting light, which echoes with the concept that gas is colorless but can cause emotional experience. Products and posters are designed from the perspective of self, lover, family and friends to comfort people's yearning for each other and the past.
The biggest challenge of this project is how to express the sense of smell and collection through abstract geometry, and create a special experimental logo image system.
The project starts in November 2020 in Hangzhou and finished in April 2021 in Hangzhou.
The sign is dynamic and has a specific sound to express the extraction and collection of odor. In the concept, the poster is set as a holographic projection poster without fixed size and shape, and the shape of the poster is like scent.
Olfactory memory is easy to be forgotten and ignored by people, but science shows that olfactory memory is more profound than other sensory memory, and can directly cause people's emotional response. People usually smell a familiar smell and associate with that memory and emotional experience, "Scentwalk" is a conceptual brand based on this scientific principle to extract odor and provide odor therapy for people in the future.
Based on the research, it is found that olfactory memory is more profound and firm than other sensory memory, and can bring rich emotional experience. Some scientific research institutions are trying to extract odor to cure patients with amnesia, and people are trying to use olfactory memory to do some meaningful things. This project is based on the idea of creating a technology company to provide odor extraction services for others in the future, and using odor to cure people.
