The characters are holding a beverage can in their hand on the design. The facial expressions of the characters reveal their favorability for the drinks. The designer intends to use illustration design to produce a psychological interaction with the customer directly. The designer tries to encourage people could willing to taste the ginger drink.

The idea of producing a ginger beverage packaging design is I expect the design could increase a greater willingness to taste this unique flavor of the beverage. The design has four representative people who are men, women, old and young. The picture of those four characters hold beverage cans respectively. Their face blushed faintly and present a satisfying state in my designed picture. I expect that consumers could turn out an emotional connection when they see this series of packaging on the market. The illustration on the beverage jar seems to say to the consumer, "Can you give it a try?" I believe the emotive interaction is a unique part of the design.
Ginger Beverage, For Young and Old, Relaxing, Illustration, Beverage Packaging
The design material is made of aluminum can.
In the initial stage of the project, I have not to search a proper breakthrough point for a promotion perspective of ginger beverage. Because of a biased of ginger beverage seems to show up in China. Therefore it is hard to find a ginger beverage that is produced by the Chinese manufacturer. As ginger is generally using as a cooking condiment or medicinal material appears in our daily life but not a daily drink. However this type of drink is a popular selling product as Coke and Sprite at abroad. I used to have resisted the flavor of ginger after attracted by the unique taste of the ginger drink. Therefore I would like to do an experiment to design a lively effect of the drink. To make a difference from the graphic design of traditional advertising graphic design I would like to express a relaxing picture of hand drawing. It encourages people to get interested in the product and then they would be willing to taste.
The project started in April 2018 in Shanghai and finished in December 2018 in Shanghai.
The illustration of the figure image is the main visual of the packaging design. Because I would like to highlight an actual connection with the consumers by the design. In the creative process, I decided to apply a simple and vivid effect on the design image. The design could tell a story in the simplest and most straightforward way. I applied four representative characters in the main image of the design. They are named as Ginger Man, Ginger Lady, Ginger Grandma, Ginger Kid. The packaging design style of beverage is suitable for all ages.
Although a ginger beverage is very popular in the overseas market. However the Chinese consumer seems to resist for the ginger drink without tasting. As they consider a ginger beverage would be an astringent taste as ginger soup. The design of four figures illustration represents to the men and women, old and young. I expect that consumer can turn out an emotional connection when they see this series of packaging on the market.
The inspiration comes from I tasted the ginger drink and impressed by its taste when I studied abroad. Moreover it is a rarely seen ginger drink in the Chinese market. The taste of the ginger beverage is refreshing and sweet. The ginger beverage is suitable for both young and old people. Thus I would like to design packaging for a ginger beverage in order to attract more people to taste this drink.
