Autonomous navigation robot for hospital logistics. It’s a product-service system to perform safe efficient deliveries, decreasing the health professional’s chances of being exposed to get sick, restraining pandemic diseases between hospital staff and patients (COVID-19 or H1N1). The design helps to handle hospital deliveries with easy access and safety, using uncomplicated user interaction through the friendly technology. The robotic units have the ability to move autonomously into indoor environment and have synchronized flow with similar units, being able to robot team collaborative work.

Autonomous navigation robot for hospital medicine distribution. Its design is a product-service system to perform the logistics service, bringing efficiency, cost reduction and safety, decreasing the chances that you will be exposed and get sick, restraining a pandemic (COVID-19). Its design should provide for the handling and delivery of loads in a hospital environment in a non-invasive manner, safe and with easy interaction to the user, through friendly technology.

The manufacturing process uses the following technologies: metal stamping and plastic injection. The product receives in some parts that composes it, the epoxy painting process as well. The materials used are: carbon steel, 304 stainless steel rollers, ABS plastic, nylon, armor-plated bearings and LEDs.
The biggest challenge was to promote the efficient management of an interdisciplinary project involving several stakeholders (designers, engineers, nurses, doctors, patients and IT professionals). The project should integrate both uses, hospital and factory and follow international rules regarding the hospital environment (safety, hygiene, asepsis, etc.) and indoor logistics (factories or other commercial establishments).
The project has started in June 2019 and finished in December 2019. All project and development has been made in Brazil.
Pharmy is a single unit robot or network synchronized system, used in hospitals and factories logistics. It is composed by a robotic structure attached to 5 drawer cabinet or chest. It maps the environment and supply medicines at the nursing station. Each drawer has independent digital opening, ensuring safe and individual access. The unit is loaded and starts the autonomous navigation to delivery point through corridors, in low speed, accessing elevators and avoiding obstacles or people.

We collect all data through immersive process including consumer, designers and multidisciplinary teams (marketing, engineer, anthropology, etc.). Objective: Bring innovation and differentiation to Latin America market. Method: Consumer-Centric Insights with Design based approach to solving problems. Steps: Research (map and understand), Conceptualize (alternative generation), Visualize (renderings), Realize (prototype) and Implement.
Inspired by Latin American hospitals, where health professionals are improperly allocated and get exposed to pandemics diseases as Coronavirus (COVID-19) or H1N1 influenza. As consequence, patients receive less attention or the hospital is forced to bear the cost of hiring professionals. Pharmy is an innovator in this market, delivering efficiency, convenience and reducing operating costs. The product also provides the flexibility to be used in other environments (industry, commerce).
