As a cultural experience design, utilizing VR to alternate the viewer’s timeline meets the criteria for this project. AR extends and brings scenes and elements of the past into reality right in front of our eyes like a city landscape. With the use of relevant technology linking places and locations with memories is made possible, and is the highlight of this cultural service design. On the subject matter, the emotional appeal of this work and the local artists‘ brushworks records the era of their times and the sentimentality of the people.
Kuo Hsueh-hu’s artworks depict the early era of Taiwan. The cultural and historical scenes of Dadaocheng are preserved through his paintings to this day. The core of this project is to see the development of art and culture intertwined through the perspective of Kuo Hsueh-hu. This project not only changes the museum experience but also reproduces the historical and cultural scene, taking the viewers back in time to experience the everyday scenery, as well as, creating opportunities to empathize with the cultural sentiments of the generation.
The project started in 2019 and finished in 2020 in Taipei,
It contributed interesting aspects to the exhibition and is suitable for every visitor. Immersive virtual reality and highly interactive extended reality, plus bilingual subtitles in Chinese and English, all work together for the users to easily understand and have an intuitive experience. So far, many users have participated in this cultural experiential exhibition. The result of this project not only reflects the overall museum experience, but also made the possibility of historical and cultural education.
It is expected that the impact of this project will extend to the inheritance of local culture and the re-creation of the museum experience. The representational history of Taiwan is reproduced through the brushworks of Taiwanese artists. This project will contribute to local cultural tourism, creating social welfare, giving ethnic groups a sense of belonging and identity. Despite the viewers having different ethnic backgrounds, this installation can still let the users experience the layers of cultural richness. Using local cultural experiential design as the focus , create culturally synchronized sensory experiential designs.
This AR experience design intends to reproduce the historical period illustrated by the artist Kuo Hsueh-hu. Providing an alternative approach to a two-dimensional viewing of museums artworks, through interaction with illustrations in immersive and expansive environments, enhancing the overall museum experience. Kuo Hsueh-Hu is the most important glue color painting artist in Taiwan. This AR experience is a returned journey to his hometown of his spirit and imagination.
