On the outer packaging, the surface of the box remains minimal and rigorous, in order to carry out the brand image. The wave illustration is printed inside the box, which echoes with the marine ingredients. Due to the oil droplets sedimentation technology, there is a light blue droplet at the bottom. User needs to shake and to mix the liquid before using, then droplet will split into tiny drops. Therefore, there are numerous of little waterdrops in the illustration to correspond with the scenario.

The lid is pearl white semi-spheric to correspond with the droplet. As the lid is not the perfect sphere, a light blue ribbon is inserted to cover the neck. On the bottle, it is frosted at the top to transit the vanish from the white lid to transparent part on bottle, as well as covering the cloudy mixture might formed whilst shaking; the glass bottle remains clear at the bottom to show the blue droplet.
As the brand image tends to be minimal and scientific, the challenge is to find the balance of being subtle to consist of the brand image, as well as being eyes-catching and attractive to match the online market and the target audience groups.
The project started in March 2019 in Shenzhen and finished in April 2019 in Shenzhen.
With the special cutting on the folding box, a portion of the illustration exposes at the bottom, to enrich the pale surface at the first sight, as well as attracting users to open the box. With the gap trimmed on the box, users could see the bottle instantly once they have opened the box. The bottle of serum is made of glass frosted at the top, so the user can see the change of the droplet while they shake the bottle.
The main target audiences are youngsters born between 1995-2000 at the online market in China. The packaging design trends rely on eyes-catching packaging, Morandi-colour tones and illustrated appearance.
The product is inspired by the Thalassotherapy, with the main ingredients mostly from ocean, including Jeju lava seawater. Therefore, the illustration on the box refers to famous Japanese Ukiyo-e, ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’ to emphasise the theme. In addition, the functions of the serum are moisturising, repairing, and softening, the main colour tone is pastel blue.
Luckinfo Ocean Refreshing Base Serum Packaging has been a Bronze winner in the Packaging Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality.
