The core value of Yagumitan is to find wild honey that is scarce in China. The key words are scarcity, search, and environment. Designers use diamond cuts to express the sense of scarcity. Diamonds are used as a symbol of rights and wealth. Consumers can intuitively feel the value of wild honey. Use the compass to indicate search. Finally, the designer used contour lines and mountain cuts to represent valley cliffs, symbolizing the best wild honey hidden in it.

Unique Properties

This is a high-end honey package, its product name is called "YAGUMITAN", which means "the honey seeker in the valley." We design the bottle as a "diamond" cut to convey the high quality of the product to the consumer; at the same time, we design the outer packaging into a undulating valley, and design the gap between the valleys into the shape of a "compass". Consumers convey the core theme of this product - looking for the scarcest wild honey in China.

Production Technology

Because the color of Yagu honey is not brilliant, in the physical proofing stage, we chose several kinds of colored glass materials for proofing, in order to reflect the color texture of honey through colored glass.

Design Challenge

There are two difficulties in the design. One is how to make the cut surface of the container more reasonable, the glass refraction is higher, and the other is more special. The designer is trying to compare the size and position of the cut surface with the sample. Finally, he chooses the present style. The container adopts the colored glass technology, which can better highlight the texture of honey.

Project Duration

The project started in Novemberl 2017 in Wuxi and finished in September 2018 in Shenzheni, and received the If Packaging Design Award in Germany in January 2019.

Operation Flow

After determining the key points of the design, the designer first determines the initial design model by drawing simple sketches, then estimates the approximate scale size, and then makes the container and box model on the computer through the model software modeling, and then matches the main graphic elements design.

Research

Yagumitan is very precious because it is scarce and difficult to collect. At the beginning of the design, the designer hopes to find a symbol that can represent this special attribute. After reading various materials at home and abroad, the designer believes that the symbol element of diamond is the most able to reflect this symbol attribute. Therefore, in the design of Yagu spy, the designer hopes to find a symbol that can represent this special attribute. Diamond elements are dispersed and integrated into boxes and containers.

Inspiration

Cliff Valley Honey Is Dedicated to "Finding China's Scarce Wild Honey", with this goal found in the cliffs deep in the mountains of Yunnan, China, this kind of highland wild honey. The special geographical environment creates the scarcity and high quality of honey, so designers create around the idea of "scarcity".
