Each box is printed with Fibonacci wave points presented by natural stamens.

Unique Properties

Flowers reflect the freshness of the cake. Flower language can convey emotions, and express your love, family affection or friendship. When buying or eating cake, users can intuitively perceive whether the cake has expired by observing the fresh state of flowers.

Production Technology

It is made of recyclable hard cardboard shell, and the flower box is made of decomposable transparent material, which further reduces the use of overall plastic in the packaging

Design Challenge

The most difficult part of the design is to think about the relationship between people and things. The designer fully considers how the flowers are integrated with the packaging, and what the flowers and packaging mean for the application scenarios of the product. For this reason, we tried the revision of the first and last five editions. Finalize the existing shape

Project Duration

The project started in Xuzhou in December 2021 and the concept work was completed in Xuzhou in May 2022

Operation Flow

The flower box is glued to the top side of the package. Gently pull out the package. The flower box has a cover and can be detached and recycled, which is convenient for users to watch the flowers carefully and keep the flower box for living storage.

Research

The design fully explored the packaging structure, and the survey interviewed the opinions of flower lovers and sweet tooth lovers.

Inspiration

People think about the shelf life of food, and use written records to help sense the shelf life of things. Is there a more intuitive visual language, when people wrap flowers with ribbons, why not replace them with real flowers to reduce the use of industrial products and be environmentally friendly. At the same time, the blooming and fading of flowers also helps people perceive the shelf life. Cake as a gift, real flowers have different flower language, representing double blessing

Project Overview

The Language of Emotion and Time Cake Packaging has been a Bronze winner in the Packaging Design award category in the year 2022 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
