The packaging highlights the Snow Mountains features, where the raw materials originated, providing a pleasant drinking experience while enjoying the natural and original brewing style. It introduces the modest and pure Chinese culture to the world while integrating the excellent traditions of the Vodka family to explore new possibilities in the spirits market.

Design Challenge

The challenge is how to create local Chinese spirits packaging. Ling Lie breaks through the traditional vodka packaging model. Natural landscape elements with modern crafts highlight the interaction between nature and modern art. Moreover, the label incorporates the glacial element to convey the natural and pure local brewing concept, with gold and silver stamping and environmentally friendly paper, paying tribute to nature.

Project Duration

The project was designed and developed in 2022 in Shanghai and Qionglai, and launched in July 2023 in China.

Operation Flow

The grand but modest shape of the bottle employs slim, curved lines combined with the rocky texture of the snow mountain elements, providing customers with a more comfortable holding experience and a more layered sense of touch. The slender and elegant neck of the bottle reduces the air entering it, making it easy to store and drink it several times.

Research

In the new consumption era, foreign spirits dominate the vodka market. By introducing this memorable spirits packaging, the design team entices the drinker into an enjoyable drinking journey while building a local spirits brand, highlighting the excellence of domestic spirits and Chinese aesthetics to the world.

Inspiration

The inspiration for the bottle design comes from the Xiling Snow Mountains, as the corrugated texture resembles the combination of rocks and Chinese water ink. The highly translucent crystalline white glass showcases the toughness of the stone, the ecological landscape features where the raw materials come from, and the power of nature, which aligns with the brand concept of nature and purity, showcasing dynamic aesthetics of masculinity, strength, and purity.

Project Overview

Ling Lie Vodka Packaging has been a Silver winner in the Packaging Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
