Unique Properties

This nut packaging design is inspired by the tales of One Thousand and One Nights, combining hand-drawn and digital illustrations to create a precise and artistic result. The graphic design on the can reflects traditional craftsmanship and is carried out with care and attention to detail. One of the main challenges in production was using recycled cardboard, ensuring both hygiene standards and environmental sustainability. The cylinder was designed and crafted first, followed by the careful application of the label. To enhance the visual appeal, a thoughtful blend of light and dark colors was used, and the logo was engraved on the can lid. Sections of the design are delicately gold-foiled and silver-foiled. Additionally, the lid serves a dual purpose, acting as both a shell collector and a serving bowl, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.

Production Technology

The Packaging Design Incorporates Illustration An Ancient Iranian Technique. The Artwork Was Hand-Drawn Multiple Times Refined And Then Digitally Colored. To Preserve Brand Identity Scheherazade The Storyteller Is Fused With The Dastan Parrot Logo Riding The Royal Wheel To Narrate The Tale. To Enhance Visual Appeal And Value Selective Gold Foiling Has Been Applied And The Production Process Was Carried Out In Multiple Stages.

Design Challenge

The biggest challenge was finding a company capable of producing cylindrical packaging that met environmental standards. Efforts were made to ensure the use of suitable materials. Additionally, due to the lack of facilities for direct printing on cylindrical cans, the design was first printed using offset printing and then applied to the cans. This process added complexity and refinement, requiring meticulous attention to production details and design precision, which was successfully achieved.

Project Duration

The research phase for selecting the box began in October 2023, with two months dedicated to reading the stories of One Thousand and One Nights. Following the research, illustrations were created, inspired by the tales. The project started in January 2024, was completed in July 2024, and became available for purchase in stores in September 2025.

Operation Flow

The packaging features a telescopic lid that opens and closes effortlessly, ensuring a secure seal once closed. The lid serves both as a bowl for serving nuts and a container for collecting shells and waste. Made from recycled paper with a food-safe inner lining, the design guarantees product freshness. The ergonomic and practical design enhances the user experience, while offset printing with matte lamination and gold foiling elevates the product's visual appeal and value.

Research

The role of graphic design in packaging is essential. Illustration, as an engaging tool, conveys rich cultural stories. By incorporating the tales of One Thousand and One Nights into the packaging, we not only preserve Iranian culture but also establish an emotional connection between the product and the consumer. This technique elevates packaging to an art form, setting the product apart in the market and offering customers a cultural and intellectual experience.
