Unique Properties
The series is packed with the Sunlight Shield visual hammer symbol, effectively communicating the product main efficacy and protective properties while enhancing visual unity. Inspired by snow mountains, three products are optimized in the shape of an isosceles triangle, which is aesthetically pleasing. The product features an intelligent light change reminder function, which changes the colour according to the UV intensity, reminding children to apply sunscreen promptly.

Production Technology
Hipapa Baby Sunscreen features an injection moulded metallic coloured powder outer cap, injection moulded and painted bottle, and fleece fabric. Hipapa Kids Refreshing Sunscreen Emulsion and Hipapa Multiple Sunscreen Emulsion are packaged with an EVOH outer layer, PP cap, adhesive and PE material. All product packaging materials are recyclable except for the cream packaging.
Design Challenge
Designing products for children requires special consideration for their unique aesthetics and usage needs. The snow mountain symbols and unified shape of this product series add to the fun, and the intelligent colour development with light changes visually conveys the efficacy of the product. This design meets the distinctive appearance tendencies of children. Additionally, the ergonomic design makes it easy for children to use and encourages them to develop the habit of regular sun protection.
Project Duration
The project was established in July 2022 in Guangzhou and launched in February 2024 in China.
Operation Flow
The packaging of this product has a smooth and rounded design, combined with an ergonomic appearance, to ensure that children can grip it comfortably. This makes it easier for children to use it independently and carry it on the go. The cap is shaped like a snow mountain and can be rotated for immediate use. The internal conduit design effectively prevents the inner material from refluxing or seeping out due to the carelessness of children, providing a safe and enjoyable experience.
Research
The design team challenged the conventional packaging of face creams and sunscreens, which are usually packaged in flat open cans and tubes. They applied minimalist concepts to the design of children skincare products, breaking the stereotype of traditional skincare products. The new design intuitively conveys the main efficacy and protective attributes of the product while enhancing the visual unity.
Inspiration
Children tend to have a natural affinity for nature, so the packaging of this series takes snow mountain as the inspiration. It employs aesthetically pleasing isosceles triangles based on children sunscreen use scenarios and efficacy. The wave shape at the bottom of the cap is combined with the triangles to visually present the shape of an icy snow mountain. It is playful and sophisticated, stimulating the interest of kids in sunscreen products and creating a unique identity for the product.
Project Overview
Anti Sun Damage Series for Children Packaging has been a Silver winner in the Packaging Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill.
